Privacy Policy

Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (or Google account information, if you sign in with Google).

Identity verification:

• NRC (National Registration Card) number, required from all users before requesting or accepting a ride
• For drivers: driver's licence photo, vehicle photo, and licence plate number, required before a driver account is approved to post trips

Profile information:profile photo, and optionally your gender, which you may choose to share so other confirmed passengers on a shared trip can see it. This field is optional and never shown to anyone outside a trip you're both confirmed on.

Trip information: trips you post or request to join, including origin, destination, time, price, and any notes you add.

Communications: messages sent to other users through in-app contact features, where applicable.

Usage information: basic technical information such as device type and general usage of the app, collected automatically to help us maintain and improve the Service.

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Match riders with drivers travelling the same route
• Verify driver identity and vehicle details before allowing a driver to post trips
• Show relevant trip and passenger information to help users decide whether to join a trip
• Communicate with you about your account or trips
• Maintain the security and integrity of the Service
• Comply with legal obligations

With other users: Your name, profile photo, and (once a trip request is accepted) your phone number are shared with the driver or rider you are matched with, so you can coordinate your trip. Your NRC number is never shared with other users, in full or in part — it is used only for our own verification purposes.

With service providers: We use third-party infrastructure providers to run the Service, including:

• Supabase for account authentication, database storage, and file storage (including verification documents and photos)
• Google, if you choose to sign in with your Google account
• Vercel, for hosting the application

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by Zambian law, to respond to a legal request, or to protect the safety of our users.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

• Driver verification documents (licence and vehicle photos) are stored in a private, access-restricted storage location and are not publicly accessible.
• Your NRC number is masked whenever displayed back to you and is never shown in full to any other user.
• Access to your account is protected by your chosen password or your Google account's own security, and by Supabase's authentication and row-level security systems, which restrict what data any user's session can access.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by the Service.

You may:

• Access and review the personal information associated with your account
• Correct inaccurate information in your profile
• Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to any information we are required to retain for legal or safety purposes (for example, records relevant to an ongoing dispute)

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app where practical. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
